Greetings to all!
Hoping the mid-week madness has subsided and it's smoother sailing for the remainder of the week-- said no self-employed entrepreneur or Independent Business Owner EVER!
In the words of 3 time FIFA World Cup winner, Pelé - "Success is no accident. It is hard work, perseverance, learning, studying, sacrifice and most of all, love of what you are doing or learning to do."
And in the words of Sarai Rodriguez, current author of this post... "Don't stop!"
With much agility this year, I have been able to see The Misses mold closer to what I have envisioned. It is a continuing process and I honestly don't know if it will stop. I see The Misses to be a garden of a company rather than a plant. We celebrate new growth, especially when it's in full bloom! Small or big, we celebrate all victories and let the adrenaline rush fuel us for the next.
Today, we celebrate our feature in September's issue of Orlando Signature Magazine for K92.3 Country's sweetheart radio host, Ashley as one of Orlando's Best-dressed A-listers.
I previously had the pleasure of doing Ashley's makeup previously for two special events. We instantly connected through our love for animals and her adorable furbaby Charlie... oh and of course makeup.
When she reached out to me to be her makeup artist for this shoot, there was no hesitation! The day soon approached and the anticipation was over!
I walk through the radio station doors and the first person to cross my path was the handsome Jorge Estevez from WFTV Channel 9 news. The absolute sweetest and he's just as clean cut and glamorous outside of his job as an anchor. I even got to sneak a quick pic with him before the shoot. Hehe...
Stepping into the station was an experience - Wires, computers, mics and bright lights, adorned with full body cardboard cutouts of famous country artists against the walls, all throughout the room.
Ashley introduced me to the gang and when I saw Obie, no words could form. My high school years literally consisted of eating, sleeping in class, leading Chorus (Previous Chorus president) and listening to POWER 95.3's early morning Carmen calls with Obie & Lil Shawn in the bus on my way to school. BUT luckily I didn't need to speak much because it was all laughs with the gang from then on.
The entire process was a flash. Once I was finished creating Ashley's look, Orlando Signature's photographers came in and immediately began the process of the shoot. I wanted to get more behind the scenes footage but the room was already packed with Orlando Signatures shooting team so I just stared from afar.
It was such a wonderful rush! I could not be more pleased with how the makeup translated on the magazine. It was refreshing to share laughs with the gang and inspiring to be in the midst of such influential people. I was grateful and honored for this opportunity. Here are the tears from the magazine with the beautiful Ashley - Makeup by moi! Enjoy!
